Intersex XY/XX/XO: The Facts behind the Myth
Intersex is a term that is shrouded in a lot of mystery and confusion. It is not well understood and often falls off the alphabet soup list when LGBT is used. The “I” has unique challenges and a unique position in within those letters. Intersex is the only category that does not stand for sexual orientation or gender identity. It also is the only category that demonstrates that not only sexual orientation and gender identity are on a spectrum, but that even the holy grail of the binary which is biological sex is in fact non-binary. This workshop is designed to give an understanding about what Intersex (DSD) is. How the Intersex community has similar issues as the Transgender community. After over 20 years of Intersex advocacy however not much has changed when it comes to the management of people with Intersex (DSD).

I was born with what is considered an Intersex condition also known by the medical term of DSD (Difference of Sex Development). I have been actively involved in Intersex/DSD advocacy since 2014.
