There is a lot that goes into creating the Gender Odyssey conference and we’d love to have your help! Whether you are a social butterfly helping others connect or a behind-the-scenes task-oriented person, we have volunteer opportunities available for you. Volunteer positions exist before, during, and after the conference.

We have two new volunteer positions that may be of interest, and quite a few spots to fill. These are:

Session/Room Host
Work with Staging & Logistics coordinator and with presenters and speakers to ensure presentation room is properly set and equipped; assist presenters with timekeeping and distribution of evaluations; read announcements; introduce speakers; monitor room for appropriate audiences and noise levels; support facilitator/presenter as needed.

Conference Navigator
Monitor and direct attendee traffic and travel between various spaces, and especially during GO Free events. Assist participants as needed. Familiar with facility layout and registration process. Strong customer service and communication skills required. Ability to stand for extended periods.

To volunteer, follow these important steps:

  1. Join Our Mailing List. We’ll send regular announcements about opportunities throughout the year.
  2. Check with your employer to see if they have ‘volunteer matching’ opportunities available. Many companies like Microsoft, Safeco, Red Robin, State Farm and UPS have volunteer matching programs that donate funds for every hour you contribute.
  3. Complete and submit the volunteer application form below.
