Workshop and Presenter Information
Name of co-presenter(s), if applicable
Name of Workshop
Please provide a 150 word or less workshop description for the program book and website.
How will you specifically structure your workshop/presentation to meet these objectives or goals?
Please provide a 75 word or less bio for yourself and each co-presenter.
Have you presented this workshop in the past? If so, where? If not, have you presented other workshops in the past? If so, what types?
How would you describe your target audience? For example, "people of color", "partners", "people with kids", "genderqueer", etc.
What uniquely qualifies you to present this topic? What qualifies you to present this workshop to your target audience (Gender Odyssey does not necessarily measure qualification by degrees obtained. We are more interested in your practical experience.)
Important Note: We encourage all presenters to show an understanding of the elements of diversity (such as race, class, age, gender identities, ability, regionalism...) with relation to each workshop's theme. Specific information about this, with examples of how to make your workshop more inclusive, will be included in the presenter packet. If you have any questions about this, please e-mail us at email@example.com.
Workshops are 1 ½ hours in length. Gender Odyssey recognizes the vast amount of knowledge and experience that all of our attendees bring to this conference. Presenters are strongly encouraged to incorporate at least half the allotted time of their presentation for discussion and questions from the conference attendees. Please tailor your presentations accordingly. If you feel this would diminish your presentation, write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss this matter.
To assist us in our workshop evaluation and selection process, please provide us with the following:
Format of session (check all that apply)
We recognize the value of workshops or discussions designed to target a specific audience or create a focused dialogue. Is your session open to all attendees, open to all but focused in content, or closed to all but a specific group?
If your workshop targets a specific audience, please list it here.
We are able to provide the following equipment for your presentation. Please let us know what you need:
I understand that the conference staff will notify me by email, no later than April 20, 2015, to let me know whether my proposal has been accepted.
If my proposal is accepted,
I/we agree to present on the day and time assigned to me/us by Gender Odyssey. I understand that conference programming spans Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Aug 21-23, 2015) from 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM.
I will pre-register at current registration rate to confirm my ability to present by May 10, 2015. If I need financial assistance, I will complete and return the scholarship application on Gender Odyssey’s website. I am submitting this workshop submission form
before February 28, 2015. I understand that Gender Odyssey staff will direct all communications only to the person submitting the proposal and that it is that person’s responsibility to inform any co-presenters of all information and agreements stated herein or in subsequent communications.
