Call for Art!                              Gender Odyssey 2012 Art Exhibit

About the Show

As part of the Gender Odyssey 2012 conference, this art show is open to all members of the transgender and gender non-conforming communities, with the goal of providing support, community, and opportunities for artistic expression.  The artwork will be displayed in the concourse area of both the Gender Odyssey conference and the Gender Odyssey Family conference, at the Washington State Convention Center.  Plans are in development to extend the show to a public venue before or after the conference as well.  Last year’s show was well-received and included photography, mixed media, painting, textile, wood carving and video.

Take a look at last year’s exhibit!   We Made This Road By Walking                                                                         The exhibit’s title references creating a path for oneself when the road to a desired destination doesn’t already exist.

Artists are invited to submit entries for the 2012 show:

Important Dates

• Submission deadline: June 30, 2012
• Shipping delivery deadline: July 15, 2012
• Exhibition dates: August 2-5, 2012

Note: Local artists may drop off by arrangement. Shipping costs will be at the artists’ expense.
