The conference dates correspond with a very busy Seattle weekend and area hotels expect to be fully booked. Our options at the Silver Cloud – Broadway, our usual host hotel, are very limited as a result. We have secured an additional reduced group rate at the Sixth Ave Inn and the Best Western Loyal Inn.  Regardless of which hotel you choose, please book early as they assure us they will run out of rooms.

Though exact times and some locations are still to be determined, this draft conference schedule can reliably be used when making travel arrangements. Plan on arriving in Seattle by early afternoon on Thursday, Aug 2nd and leaving late afternoon on Sunday, Aug 5th.

Silver Cloud Hotel

Silver Cloud Hotel in SeattleWe’ve secured a special reduced group rate for attendees at the Silver Cloud Broadway. The Silver Cloud is located at Broadway and Madison, in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, a pleasant 20 minute walk from the main conference venue. 100% smoke-free.

Rates include:

How to Book

Online Reservations:

  1. Reserve your room by July 9th to secure the special group rate!
  2. Go to Silver Cloud’s online group reservation tool
  3. Type in “Group ID” GO2012
  4. Type in “Password” GO2012
  5. Select desired arrival and departure dates (“No rooms available for your selected criteria” will appear until dates are chosen.)
  6. Complete reservation with your personal information

Phone Reservations:

  1. Reserve your room by July 9th to secure the special group rate!
  2. Call the hotel toll free at 1-800-590-1801 (or locally at 206-325-1400.)
  3. Tell them that you are traveling with “Gender Odyssey” and mention the group ID GO2012.
  4. Complete reservation with your personal information.

Sixth Avenue Inn

We’ve secured additional rooms for attendees at the Sixth Avenue Inn, located in downtown Seattle with easy access to key area attractions including the Space Needle, Pike’s Place Market, and the scenic waterfront. Rates include:

  • Free in-room wireless Internet access
  • Fitness center
  • On-site restaurant
  • Guest parking for only $15/night plus tax

Best Western Loyal Inn

Additionally, we have rooms available at the Best Western Loyal Inn.  This hotel has less expensive parking but is just under a mile away.  Each room has all the standard amenities that make guests feel at home, including 32-inch flat screen televisions, microwaves and refrigerators and onsite are a sauna room, spa, exercise facility and a 24 hour business center.

Gender Odyssey Housing and Ride Share Message Board

Please join our Yahoo room/ride share listserv if you would like to connect with local attendees to arrange housing. Many conference attendees have opened their homes for the weekend to offer some Seattle hospitality. Out of town attendees are often able to connect with each other on this list to arrange shared transportation and/or housing at the Silver Cloud.

NOTE: Gender Odyssey does not assist in making these connections or handle any pre-screening. Find out as much information as possible about an individual beforehand and use at your own risk.
