Interpreter Services

If you need sign language interpreters, please be sure to mark your registration form and submit it no later than July 8th so that we may arrange accomodations.

Event Venues

All conference event venues are wheelchair accessible. During our events, all restrooms will be designated gender-neutral. You may use any restroom you like.

WA State Convention & Trade Center

All spaces at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center comply with ADA regulations and requirements.

Using the Facilities:
A Guide to Getting Relief at the WSCTC

The Convention Center staff are very supportive of our conference. During the conference, the restrooms on the sixth floor will be designated gender-neutral: please feel free to use any restroom you like. If you experience any restroom gender policing, please talk to Gender Odyssey staff at the registration table. We have access to WSCTC staff at all times during our conference, and will address any problems should they arise.

The restrooms on the other floors of the WSCTC are gender-specific and will be designated either male or female: use them at your own discretion. Other floors may have separate conferences, and the first and second floors are open to the public. If you have questions about restroom access, please find Gender Odyssey staff at the registration desk.

Richard Hugo House

Richard Hugo House has wheelchair accessibility via a ramp to the building’s back door, the east entrance. Ring the bell at the top of the ramp for entrance to the first floor of RHH. Gender Odyssey will be using the theater, cabaret, and café spaces on the first floor: all three spaces are wheelchair accessible, as are the first floor restrooms.

If you have any further questions about Richard Hugo House, including more information about the venue’s accessibility to your needs, please contact RHH directly (www.hugohouse.org).

Scent-Free Space

In order to make the conference accessible for as many people as possible, all conference events will be non-smoking and as scent and fragrance free as we can make them. We cannot guarantee that the venues will be safe spaces for people with multiple chemical sensitivities, but we are requesting that all venues refrain from using chemical cleaning agents before and during our use of the space. We also request that you refrain from wearing scents, perfume, cologne, essential oils, etc. For more information about MCS and fragrance-free spaces, please see http://www.peggymunson.com/mcs/myths.html.
