Gender Odyssey for Professionals – LA
June 28-29, 2017
LA Marriott Burbank Airport
Information & Registration: genderodyssey.org/los-angeles

WHO is this conference for?
Mental Health Professionals – Educators – Administrators – Medical Providers
Anyone who has clients, students, or patients who are gender diverse. Anyone who wishes to expand their client base to include transgender people. Anyone seeking to improve their gender competency. Professionals seeking CEUs.

WHAT is this conference about?
Gender Odyssey Professional is a two-day conference dedicated to helping practitioners hone their gender competency. Peer-to-peer teaching workshops, patient panels, parent panels, complex medical case reviews, and school district policy tool kits are standard. Workshops will also address legal challenges faced by transgender people, advocacy work, surgical considerations, and caring for transgender youth. There are more than 30 sessions from which to choose, spread across two days.

WHY should I attend?
Whereas at one time society could comfortably demand that transgender people hide their identities and conform to the status quo, today it is increasingly safer for them to openly live as their authentic selves. With that change comes the demand for professionals to competently treat, teach, and advocate for gender-diverse and transgender people. For over 14 years Gender Odyssey has stepped in to help educators and providers understand the culture and concerns of the trans community. The need for knowledgeable professionals today is growing exponentially.

We’re excited that this important conference is growing – it offers vital information and resources you truly can’t get anywhere else. We hope to see you there! #GenderOdyssey
